Dan Ettinger

Israeli born Dan Ettinger is one of the internationally acclaimed talented young conductors of his generation.
From the beginning of the season 2015/16, Dan Ettinger has been taking the position of the Chief Conductor with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and the General Music Conductor of the regional capital Stuttgart.
From 2003 up to 2009 Ettinger was the Assistant of Daniel Barenboim and Kapellmeister at the Staatsoper unter den Linden in Berlin, 2009-2016 General Music Director of the Nationaltheater Mannheim, 2010-2015 Chief Conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, where he has been Conductor laureate since 2015. 2005-2012 and again since 2018, Dan Ettinger is Chief Conductor of the Israel Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv.
Since then, numerous engagements have led him to the world’s most renowned opera houses, such as the Metropolitan Opera New York, the Washington National Opera, The Royal Opera House London, the Opéra National de Paris, the National Theatre in Tokyo, the Zurich Opera, the Salzburg Festival, as well as the State Operas of Vienna and Munich.
Since the beginning of his conducting career Dan Ettinger is also well known on the concert stage. From 2003 until 2003 he was the first guest conductor of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Today his performances with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Israel Symphony are the main focus of his concert activity.
